Capcom’s remake of Resident Evil 2 comes in three variations: a standard edition, a Deluxe Edition (featuring a few extra digital goods) and a pricey ($199.99) Collector’s Edition. Today, Capcom offered a peek at what’s included in the Deluxe Edition of the game, so you can judge whether the $10 price bump is worth it. If you have a bad case of Resident Evil nostalgia, it probably will be.

In addition to reversible cover art, which lets you choose between Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield as the star of Resident Evil 2’s box art, the Deluxe Edition downloadable content consists of five character skins.

Claire’s Elza Walker costume is based on the original star of Capcom’s scrapped version of Resident Evil 2 (aka Resident Evil 1.5). The motorcyclist and Raccoon University student will finally get her official appearance in next year’s RE2 remake.

Claire will also get a military costume, making her an honorary member of STARS, the organization that her brother Chris belonged to. There’s also a noir-inspired outfit, giving fedora fans something to get excited about.

Leon will get a noir costume too, making him look suspiciously similar to another survival horror game protagonist: Sebastian Castellanos from The Evil Within. Leon will also get a costume that makes him look like a member of the Arklay County sheriff’s department.

Finally, it looks like Resident Evil 2’s Deluxe Edition DLC will let players swap in the original game’s soundtrack for some PlayStation-era tunes. - www.polygon.com
